Acorns Children's Hospice

Acorns Children's Hospice is a UK-based charity dedicated to providing specialist palliative care and support to babies, children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families. Their care includes short breaks, therapeutic and psychosocial support, emergency and end-of-life care, and bereavement services - all tailored to the needs of each child and family to help make the most of every moment together.

Acorns operates three children’s hospices across the West Midlands and surrounding counties - in Birmingham (Selly Oak), Walsall (the Black Country) and Worcester (Three Counties) - and also provides care in family homes and local communities throughout those regions. It serves families in areas including Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Sandwell, Dudley, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire and Shropshire.

Acorns Charity Shops

To help fund this vital care, Acorns runs a network of over 40 charity shops primarily on high streets across Birmingham and the West Midlands, offering pre-loved clothing, accessories, toys, books, homeware and furniture. These shops, many staffed by volunteers, help raise essential funds and also offer local donors and shoppers a way to support Acorns’ work while finding bargain second-hand items.
