What is Helen & Douglas House?
Helen and Douglas House is an Oxford-based charity providing palliative, respite, and end-of-life care for children and young adults with life-limiting conditions, and support for their families. Helen House, which opened in 1982, was the world's first children's hospice. Douglas House, opened in 2004, was the world's first hospice built specifically for young adults. Together they serve families across the Thames Valley and the surrounding home counties.

Helen and Douglas House has around 25 charity shops across Oxfordshire and the wider Thames Valley and South West region, including boutique-style stores with a focus on quality pre-loved fashion, vintage finds, designer labels, and homeware. Some shops have a dedicated homeware section alongside clothing. They also sell collectable items through an eBay store and have a Discogs page for vinyl records. In 2023/24, the shops raised £1.4 million to support local terminally ill children.
