What is Break?

BreakĀ is a UK-based charity dedicated to supporting children, young people and families, particularly those who are in, around or leaving the care system and those with complex needs. The organisation offers a range of therapeutic services, fostering and residential care, mentoring programmes, lifelong support, family guidance and pathways to education and employment to help young people build confidence, resilience and brighter futures. Break believes that no child should feel alone, and its work is rooted in providing safe, nurturing environments where individuals can thrive.

Break operates primarily across East Anglia and parts of the West Country in England, working in communities throughout counties such as Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Gloucestershire. The charity's services include therapeutic support, residential homes, fostering, mentoring and tailored programmes that walk alongside young people at every stage of their journey - from early care to independent adulthood.

Break Charity Shops

Break runs a network of charity shops across East Anglia and the West Country, selling high-quality donated second-hand items including clothes, books, homewares, accessories and bric-a-brac, all offered at affordable prices. These shops - found in towns such as Attleborough, Aylsham, Cromer, Dereham, Gorleston-on-Sea, Sheringham, Beccles and Cheltenham, among others - help raise essential funds to support Break's services for vulnerable children, young people and families. Beyond fundraising, the shops act as community hubs where donations and purchases contribute to local reuse and recycling efforts, and many welcome volunteers. Break also operates an online eBay shop so supporters can shop and donate from anywhere in the UK.
