If you're a fan of all things retro, the Midcentury Markets are a must-visit. These vintage pop-up events take place across Liverpool, Birmingham, Leeds, and Sheffield, bringing together a vibrant collection of stalls celebrating the best in mid-20th-century design. From quirky collectables to statement furniture, these markets are the ideal shopping ground for anyone with a love for timeless style.

Our visit to Liverpool's Midcentury Markets
The stalls are filled with carefully curated pieces spanning the 1940s to the 1970s - expect everything from bold lighting and teak sideboards to retro homewares and unique collectables. Each trader brings their own eye for vintage charm, making it easy to find one-of-a-kind items that tell a story.

We recently visited the Liverpool Penny Lane Church site, which is especially significant as it was the birthplace of the Midcentury Markets in November 2023. The venue had a welcoming, community feel, with the retro wares perfectly complementing the historic space's character.

While the Penny Lane Church site doesn't have a large car park, visitors can easily make use of the free parking at the nearby Penny Lane Shopping Centre, just a short walk away. Public transport links into the area also make it an accessible day out for locals and visitors alike.

The Midcentury Markets are more than just a shopping trip - they're an experience. Whether you're a dedicated collector or simply someone looking to add a splash of retro flair to your home, the atmosphere and variety make these events a highlight of the vintage calendar.
If you're planning your next vintage adventure, be sure to keep an eye out on the Ganddee app to know when the Midcentury Markets will next pop up in your city. It's the perfect way to step back in time and discover treasures from the golden decades of design.
