What is Crisis?
Crisis UK (often simply called Crisis) is the national charity dedicated to ending homelessness in Great Britain. The organisation works directly with people experiencing or at risk of homelessness to provide tailored support that helps them find long-term solutions, access benefits, healthcare, employment and secure safe, affordable housing. In addition to frontline services, Crisis campaigns for political and social change to address the root causes of homelessness and conducts research to improve understanding of the issue.
Crisis operates nationwide across England, Scotland and Wales, with dedicated Skylight Centres in cities including London, Newcastle, Oxford, Edinburgh, South Wales and Merseyside - where people can access education, wellbeing, housing and employment support all under one roof. The charity's work combines practical support with campaigning efforts to ensure lasting improvements for people experiencing homelessness and to prevent others from becoming homeless in the first place.
Crisis UK Charity Shops
Shop from Crisis charity shops are a key part of Crisis's fundraising and community engagement, helping to support its mission to end homelessness for good. These shops - predominantly located in London - sell quality pre-loved clothing, accessories, homewares, books and furniture, with all proceeds going towards Crisis's services and campaigns. The network includes multiple high-street locations such as Archway, Brick Lane, Camden, Dalston, Ealing, Elephant & Castle, Peckham, Walthamstow and more, as well as special formats like the Crisis Dropshop. You can also shop online through Shop from Crisis to support the cause from anywhere in the UK. The shops rely on donations of good-quality items and volunteers to operate, offering a sustainable way for locals to give back while scoring great preloved finds.
