Busy town square in Shrewsbury, England, featuring the historic Market Hall, a statue of Robert Clive, and people shopping and walking under a cloudy sky.

Shrewsbury is a charming medieval market town with cobbled streets, timber-framed buildings, and even a claim to fame as Charles Darwin’s hometown. It also happens to be one of the best (and only) places in the county for second-hand shopping.

With dozens of charity shops, vintage boutiques, and antique centres dotted around town, it’s definitely worth a visit. Here are some of the best second-hand spots to check out.

Blue Cross Charity Shop

Blue Cross charity shop storefront in the UK with bright blue signage, supporting pet welfare and offering second-hand shopping.

Right on Pride Hill, Blue Cross is always the first place I end up. The clothing section is on the smaller side, but the wall of trinkets, glassware, and home décor is ideal if you love rummaging for bits and bobs. (Heads up: no changing rooms)

  • Address: 47 Pride Hill, Shrewsbury, SY1 1DN
  • Opening hours: Mon–Sat 9am – 5pm | Closed Sunday

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity Shop

Hidden away in the Darwin Shopping Centre, this is hands down one of my favourite charity shops in Shrewsbury. It’s massive, with one side packed full of clothing rails and the other filled with affordable furniture. And good news, they’ve finally added changing rooms!

  • Address: Darwin Shopping Centre, Shrewsbury, SY1 1PL
  • Opening hours: Mon-Sat 9am - 5pm | Sun 10:30am - 4:30pm

Shrewsbury Antique Centre

Entrance of Shrewsbury Antiques Centre with red and gold signage, vintage framed artwork displayed inside, and shop window stickers visible.

Just behind the town square, this antiques centre is like an underground maze. Down the stairs, you’ll find room after room packed with clothes, furniture, records, and all sorts of quirky, wonderful bits and bobs. Whatever you’re hunting for, chances are you’ll stumble across it here.

Severn Hospice Superstore

Superstore by name, superstore by nature. Named the largest charity shop in Shropshire, it’s a 10-minute walk from the town centre. Inside, you’ll find loads of clothes and even a dedicated outlet section. Bonus: it has its own parking, so you can stock up without worrying about lugging everything too far.

  • Opening hours: Mon-Sat 9am - 5pm | Sun 10am - 4pm

Cuan Wildlife Rescue Charity Shop

Tucked on the corner of St Mary’s Street, this charity shop is easy to miss, but it’s absolutely worth popping in. Most items are under £3, and there’s always a sale rack. Note: There aren’t any changing rooms, but at those prices a little adventurous try-on is part of the fun!

Severn Hospice Wyle Cop Shop

It’s smaller than the superstore, but it’s still packed with clothes, including a large men’s section, and a dedicated vintage and designer area. Bonus: it’s on a street full of cafés, so you can grab a coffee and cake to refuel during your charity shop crawl.

  • Address: 12A Wyle Cop, Shrewsbury, SY1 1XB
  • Opening hours: Mon-Sat 9am - 5pm | Closed Sunday

Shropshire Cat Rescue Charity Shop

At the bottom of Pride Hill, this is the only charity shop supporting the Shropshire Cat Rescue. It’s not huge, but it’s packed with bargains and a few quirky finds. Perfect for bargain hunters and animal lovers alike!

Scope Charity Shop

Scope is another firm favourite of mine, with a great mix of men’s and women’s clothing plus plenty of trinkets and homeware. They also stock new ASOS items and sample pieces, making it a perfect stop if you’re after quality fashion finds at charity shop prices.

Severn Hospice Mardol Shop

Yes, that’s right, yet another Severn Hospice shop! While the clothing selection is solid, the real highlight here is the massive wall of books. If you’re a book lover, you’ll be in heaven as around half the shop is dedicated to novels, cookbooks, and everything in between.

  • Address: 71 Mardol, Shrewsbury, SY1 1PZ
  • Opening hours: Mon-Sat 9am - 5pm | Sun 10am - 4pm
