Dogs Trust is the UK's largest dog welfare charity, dedicated to improving the lives of dogs and supporting responsible dog ownership. Founded in 1891 (originally as the National Canine Defence League), Dogs Trust works to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome dogs in need, ensuring that every dog gets the chance to live a happy, healthy life in a loving home. Dogs Trust operates nationally across the United Kingdom and Ireland, with a network of 22 rehoming centres throughout these countries where dogs receive care and shelter while awaiting adoption. Its mission, "a dog is for life", underpins all of its work - from rehoming and veterinary care to community outreach and education on responsible pet ownership. Dogs Trust Ireland, based in Dublin, also plays a key role in improving canine welfare across Ireland.
